What our clients say

We were looking for a building contractor to bring plans for the renovation of our 1930's house to life, our architect recommended we speak to Trevor at CHC.

We were impressed with Trevor’s detailed cost analysis and supplier documentation, as well as finding him very friendly and personable – important factors for someone who would be sharing our home with us, as we planned to remain ‘on-site’ throughout the build.

The build was well planned and clearly communicated, the team were great and particularly considerate of leaving ‘site’ clean and tidy for us at the end of their day.  They planned big dirty demolition jobs around our holidays and managed to time plumbing and electrical jobs around work and school schedules to impact us personally as little as possible.  The Team were obviously experts in their trades, any problems were openly discussed and solutionised.  They were also very open to discuss new ideas which, if within the realm of possibility(!) were seemingly easily accommodated.

Not only do we now have our dream home but we feel we’ve made some lovely friends along the way.

Many thanks to all at CHC for their hard work – you WILL be back for ‘Phase 2’ at some point!!

- Matthew & Katherine Tucker- Parkstone Drive, Southend-on-Sea

I am an Architect, and Developer and was looking for a builder who delivered outstanding quality builds to a budget. As an Architect, I am incredibly fussy about the finished product. I cannot fault the level of detail that Trevor and his team went to, to help me achieve the vision I had. As a developer, I have to constantly weigh up the cost of doing something versus the visual benefit. I am selling a product to make a profit but also want to look back with a sense of pride, of a build I have left as a legacy.

I pride myself in providing new housing which is not banal, and mainstream but every detail is thought through from the 2.7m floor to ceiling height on the ground floor, with crittall doors onto a courtyard, to the roof terrace with sea views.

Trevor took time out to help me with his quantity surveyor background and training to consider alternative materials for various areas, we looked at the cost benefit of artificial grass and hardwood decking versus composite decking and then the visual impact. Trevor, is unique in his ability to see and be able to understand the vision from the offset. I felt totally confident that he would have the same high standards that I would have. I would totally recommend Trevor to any new build developers, I am confident that Trevor and I will work on many future projects together. He has already been commissioned as our contractor for our next housing development to start in the next month.
